Practice Makes Perfect

"I assume I don't need an introduction."

-Anne Rice

I've never been the one for a catchy intro, but I suppose there's always a start to everything! So here goes nothing:

Hi everyone! My name is Leah, and I am the creator of the Sunflower Society Blog. I named it this because it's one of my favorite flowers, and its symbolic meaning is that of unconditional love, which is what I want others to feel for themselves.

I'm in my second semester of college. Admittedly, this isn't my first go at college life. I tried once when I was 18, but I wasn't ready for it. 4 years later, and lots of horrid work in retail, I'm on the right path to what I want to pursue for my future. I'm a licensed esthetician looking to expand my knowledge on ingredient formulation and eventually develop my own skincare brand, hence why I'm pursuing Chemistry as a degree.

Some of my interests and hobbies include, but are not limited to, singing, gaming, reading, and writing! I'm a very artistic person, and visuals have always been appealing to me, especially aesthetics.

Something that I consider unique about me is that I've been self-taught in makeup artistry for almost three years now! I used to use it primarily as a form of art therapy. Here are some of my favorite looks so far:

I appreciate you stopping by! Leave a comment if something piques your interest. I don't bite...much.

  1. I love your title, I also have a love for sunflowers. The meaning is great and they are beautiful. Anyways, your make up is amazing! I hope you become someone in those labs because that would be cool. Maybe even one day you'll have the privilege of working with a famous makeup artist and their collection. That would be so cool now that i think about it. Good luck!

  2. Hey Leah!
I am glad you're giving in another go and found your path. I personally don't have great skin so the fact that you want to have your own skincare brand is extremely cool, I hope to buy from your shop one day! Also thank you for the song link, I think I have to add it to my Spotify playlist.
